Elena Skvortsova takes her seat as new OMV Executive Board member for Marketing & Trading

From June 15, 2020, Elena Skvortsova will head the OMV Downstream division of Marketing & Trading in her role as Chief Commercial Officer, thereby becoming the fifth member of the OMV Executive Board.

With Elena Skvortsova, OMV is bringing on board a manager with extensive international leadership experience and cross-sector expertise. Until April 2020 she was Business President of Praxair Canada, a wholly owned subsidiary of Linde plc., and prior to this – President of Linde’s Middle East and Eastern Europe business. Earlier, Elena Skvortsova spent 13 years at Baxter International, holding various leadership positions in the USA, Central and Eastern Europe, and the United Kingdom.

In summer 2019, the OMV Supervisory Board reorganized the Downstream business, splitting it into two areas: Refining & Petrochemical Operations and Marketing & Trading. Thomas Gangl was appointed as member of the Executive Board responsible for Refining & Petrochemical Operations and Chief Downstream Operations Officer and took on these responsibilities in the summer of 2019. Responsibility for the Marketing & Trading business, the role Elena Skvortsova now takes over, had been assumed on an interim basis by Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO Rainer Seele.

The Supervisory Board of OMV Aktiengesellschaft appointed Elena Skvortsova in March 2020 with effect from June 15, 2020 for a three-year period, with an extension option for OMV for a further two years.
